An Introduction

Full disclosure: I know almost nothing about bonsai trees or the art of bonsai-ing (see, I’m not even sure what to call it). Funnily enough, I have now found myself working in the business of bonsai semi-regularly. Life is strange.

Part of this work has me helping out with this blog, so consider this my introduction. Hi, nice to meet you…yes, I am kind of short, thanks for noticing. How’s life been for you? Cool, always glad to hear that things are going well with my friends (or more accurately, my anonymous internet readers/skimmers/people-that-accidentally-clicked-on-this-link-whose-eyes-fell-on-this-particular-block-of-text).

Here’s something else about me: I like trees. Big fan. Totally think that they are pretty rad. Of course, this doesn’t mean that I could tell you anything about them that goes beyond some basic biology lessons that I’ve managed to retain over the years. Something about trees puts me at peace and helps me to think much more clearly than if I were working in an office. Thinking is one of those things that I hold in high regard, I’d like to call myself a writer so thinking is kind of a big deal for me. Basically what I’m getting at is that trees + Jaime (that’s me!) = good.

Since I do plan on being around not only trees (what a nice life that would be) but also people who are knowledgeable about all things bonsai, I am hoping to eventually gain some sort of understanding, at least on the basics of bonsai. You can, if you’d like, follow me on that journey to enlightenment or whatever you want to call it. Maybe in a few months I’ll be able to teach you a thing or two…doubtful but again, life is strange and pretty darn unpredictable at times. We shall see.
P.S. Say hello to one of the trees I photographed yesterday.

(And okay, that’s not the whole tree, it’s just one of the flowers that was growing on it. But it’s called a Lavender Star Flower…which sounds like it should be the name of some kind of cartoon princess. And yes, that is why I picked it to show on here.)
